The Post calls the now-famous Muhammad cartoons "a calculated insult" [editorial, Feb. 8]. Then The Post should fire Tom Toles. Every cartoon he draws -- thank God -- is a calculated insult.
"The dispute isn't really about what the cartoons look like," says Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt [op-ed, Feb. 12]. "It's about the fact that he was depicted at all." Then condemn the Muhammad bas-relief at the Supreme Court and the Muhammad portraits on the Mall. In blindly accepting Muslim outrage, The Post forgets that the Koran is open to interpretation.
